What's this SaaS idea generator good for?

Idea generators are useful tools when:

  • You've hit a wall - If you’re looking to get a new business idea, but don’t know where to start, this idea generator can help. Generate a few descriptions and see which audiences and business types you are being drawn to.

  • Exploring a niche - Let's say you want to make a product for small Shopify sellers. The idea generator can help you find proven business ideas, and give you a list of top competitors that you can study so that you can figure out how to differentiate your product.

Can't I just ask ChatGPT for an idea?

Definately! We use OpenAI behind the scenes here (with a few small twists) with a refined prompt to make the generator work. That's why it's a free tool.

We put this together just to be a simple and convenient starting point when you want to explore new business ideas.

What do you mean by "validated"?

One thing we've learned over the years is that successful SaaS startups typically target problems that people are already paying to solve through other products. In other words, there is competition that has validated that this is a valuable problem to solve.

While competing may seem scary, you'll know that you have a product that will solve a real problem, and that's also why we included differentiation approaches so that you can position yourself against those competitors.

Always try to be better for one particular segment of the audience that has the problem. If existing solutions solve the problem well for enterprise businesses, then you can be better for small ones. Or if a product solves the problem for typical e-commerce businesses, find a type of atypical audience that has different needs (e.g. e-commerce businesses that offers local pickup).
